paylink interfaces

Post by Deme »

Hello.
I'm new with this system and I'm having trouble to make it work.

We have 8 washing machines (acceptors) connected to Paylink.

I need to know the ACCEPTORS Serial No to start programming, but I don't know how I can obtain these serial numbers.
If I'm not mistaken, I also need to run 8 instances of Paylink (driver application), each one with a different Serial No (/S <serial no>).
I would also need help to configure standard.cfg, but I don't know if it would be necessary.

I just want to give you some captures from the basic programs included in the package.

This last capture shows the switches, it's working properly, the switch number 2 is our machine 3, and it is on! But I can't work with switches, I need the acceptors so I can read the status, activate, deactivate...

I hope you can help me.
Thank you,
Best regards

Re: Find Acceptors Serial Numbers?

Hi,

I am very confused by your post. Acceptors are devices for checking and reporting on coins and notes that communicate by a serial protocol, either cctalk, ID-003, EBDS or MDB.

Do you really have a washing machine with one of these connections to monitor coins / notes?

If you have a system with 8 similar coin / note acceptors and you wish to read all of them from 1 PC, than you can use 8 Paylinks with different Paylink serial numbers with one acceptor connected to each Paylink. Is this what you are trying to do? (This is not the serial number of the acceptor, it is a serial number you program into the Paylink)

Hello.

Yes, we have 8 coin acceptors (1 per machine) connected to Paylink.

It was already setup by a third party company, but our pc was "infected by a virus" and we had to format the disk.

Now we have to do it by ourselves and connect to the paylink, I understand the examples, but we don't know how to connect or how to set the standard configuration.
Do you know how we should proceed? We read the documentation but it is not enough.

By the way, the captures in my previous post should be enough to understand the problem.

Thank you

Hi,

There are no acceptor connections in that picture. The three places to connect a serial comms cable are the middle at the top, the left hand side and the top connector on the right.

The only connections visible are digital I/O, 8 inputs and 8 outputs (you've already posted results about that) - it is possible that this is all the Paylink was used for.

Hello.

I think we are able to do it now. We found the old standard.cfg and we see the 8 acceptors now, 8 MBD bills.
We will try to make it work again.

Thank you!

Hi,

The demo Switches & LEDs screen should let you do all this "Manually". (LEDs are any sort of output, Switches are any sort of input)

The relveant parts of the API (http://aardvark.eu.com/downloads/docume ... Manual.pdf) are IndicatorOn / IndicatorOff for outputs, and SwitchOpens / SwitchCloses for inputs.
