AED tubes support

Post by thibaultdelorme »

Hello,
I am using a PayLink with firmware version 1.1.12.83 (Feb 16 2018, Time: 13:55:29), connected to ccTalk hoppers and a CPI Gryphon coin acceptor configured for AED coins, with 4 tubes for AED 1.00 and 2 tubes for AED 0.50.

Payments work correctly, and I can determine which coins were used during a payment using AcceptorBlock data.

However, I am unable to retrieve the coin count for each individual tube.

With a PayLink handling EUR coins (one tube per denomination), ReadDispenserDetails works as expected and provides one DispenserBlock per tube with a valid coin count. With AED, I only get two DispenserBlock entries (one per denomination), and DispenserBlock.Count remains 0 after coin insertion. I cannot distinguish the six physical tubes individually.

Is it possible to retrieve six independent DispenserBlock entries, one per tube, with their respective coin counts? Is it possible to enable or disable each tube independently?

Since I cannot detect whether an accepted coin is stored in a tube or routed to the cashbox, I am unable to know how many coins are currently in each tube or in the cashbox after payments.

What is the correct or recommended way to retrieve this information with a PayLink and CPI Gryphon in this configuration?

Hi,

Paylink can only go off what is reported by the changer. If the the changer doesn't send the information you want, then there is no way for Paylink to do anything about this.

The MDB specification allows the changer to say whether a coin was routed to the cash box or to the tube. The Paylink handler processes this by incrementing the AcceptorCoin.PathCount field as well as the Count field. This should let you keep track of the coins yourself, although this will still be on a total coins over all 4 tubes basis, rather than tube by tube.

To go beyond that, the only solution would be to get CPI to change the configuration of the Gryphon.
