JCM UBA-10-SS setup

Post by majstor »

Hello,
for the past few years we were using cctalk protocol. So now being challenged to connect JCM UBA-10-SS feels like total noob. Note acceptor is

Code: Select all

JCM UBA-10-SS
500-00-020F0
USA-03 v1.46-13
and I need help with the following:
  1. Which firmware version is needed for Paylink?
  2. Which firmware version is needed for JCM note acceptor?
  3. Should jumper switch on JCM for signal level be set on Photo-coupler isolation or RS-232C?
  4. What are all of the electrical connections needed for both Paylink side and also on side of the JCM acceptor?
  5. How should appropriate AESCDriver configuration file look like?
  6. Is it possible to use Paylink Lite for JCM UBA-10-SS?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,

The normal way to connect a UBA to Paylink is using ID-003 over RS232. This has been in every version of Paylink and the UBA.

So, specifically:
1/ Any will do - I recommend the latest 4.1.12.14
2/ Any / all will handle this
3/ Use RS232-C and connect to either of the two RS232 ports on Paylink.
4/ You just need ground, Tx and Rx. The standard Paylink distribution includes a Folder Paylink Looms which include specifications of both RS232 connections to a 9 way D type.
5/ You just need:
Protocol ID003 on Paylink Lite With Acceptor
or
Protocol ID003 on connector RS232 With Acceptor

6/ Paylink Lite V2 only supports a single channel. We can supply a single RS232 channel Paylink lite to special order.
In addition you can add an auxiliary RS232 to USB lead to a cctalk Paylink lite.

Regards

Dave
P.S. We are not JCM UBA experts. It may be possible to run the UBA in cctalk mode and connect the Photo-coupler isolation to a cctalk system, but we don't know if / how that works.
If you can manage the electrical connection, it will just be a normal / standard note acceptor.

Good morning, greetings, let me introduce myself, my name is Johan.

Sorry I have opened this message again, I am having problems connecting a JCM UBA-10 bill acceptor with protocol id-003 to the paylink, I have also connected an Ardac and neither of them recognize the paylink device.

-As I have another paylink that I am using, I first connected the JCM UBA-10 or the ardac and both work without a problem, but not on that paylink, the paylink turns the LED from red to green which makes me understand that it works but it does not enable the bill acceptor for protocol id003.

-Would an update to the paylink firmware be necessary? I have already had a bad experience. The first paylink that came into my hands, I tried to update and it became unusable. I did this out of curiosity. That paylink arrived and worked fine. I am afraid of doing it wrong again.
