PAY_FRAUD status from Hopper

Post by Nathan »

Hi,
When a hopper is in a permanent state of: PAY_FRAUD. Is there any way to reset this status?

Or should the hopper be replaced?

Thanks

Hi Nathan,

PAY_FRAUD is hardware detected, so there's nothing you can do at a software level.

Hoppers continually monitor the optos that they use to register the coins leaving the hopper. Usually they turn the illumination side on and off, and check that the receiving side matches.

The fraud status is caused either by one of these components failing, or (often) some sort of accidental obstruction in the coin exit path. (Or by someone shining a torch up the hopper to try to defraud it!)

Cheers
