ubuntu 22.04 - paylink usb, no connection ?

Post by saltybrains »

Hi

we have trying to run a prototype gaming setup using an embedded pc running ubuntu 22.04 (actually we are happy for any version of ubuntu which can work if you say so) and an existing paylink device in the machines to control a bill acceptor and ticket printer.

so far we can not manage to get any of the paylink examples working.

firstly the linux documentation speaks of "BuildPaylink.sh" file which is non existent in ANY of the downloads ?

secondly when attempting to run the linux samples, they all return the error 'IMHEI open failed - 1'

any help would be appreciated

thanks

Alex.

Hi,

If you are using the standard, metal box, Paylink then you don't need BuildPaylink.sh, you only need that if you are using USB connectivity with a micro Paylink, or using Paylink Lite V2.

(If you are using USB connectivity, then the PC version of Paylink and the BuildPaylink.sh file are available in http://aardvark.eu.com/downloads/softwa ... ist.tar.gz)

Error 1 is strange - was the AESCDriver driver program running normally? What was the output from the driver?

Are you running the latest release? http://aardvark.eu.com/downloads/softwa ... ist.tar.gz
