Free Pay facility on Innovative SmartHopper

Post by Nathan »

Hi,

Paylink is paying out from SH with highest denomination possible.

SH itself has two options:
Free pay
Highest denominations

The standard setting is ‘highest denomination’ although I think Paylink is requesting for each denomination individually.
Is it possible to pay out using the ‘Free Pay’ option?

Hi,

Sorry, there is only the one option implemented by Paylink, where Paylink does it's own Highest Denomination algorithm.

It would be a significant effort to restucture Paylink to use the Free pay option.

Hi,

In our application (laundry kiosk), a lot of clients pay with small denominations (10c, 20c, …).
Our Smarthopper contains a lot of them.

By using the ‘Free Pay’ option, these coins will be given to the client.

With the highest denomination setting, high value coins will be payed out, while the smaller ones will stay in the SH, which causes the SH to search for high denomination coins while there are none. This will cause the client to wait for a while.

Is there a possibility you implement this in Paylink software?

Maybe this can be set using the “FutureExpansion” setting.

I think this will be a major improvement.

Hi Nathan,

Making a change such as that is quite a significant effort.

You can achieve something similar by implementing an algorithm in your application to go through the Paylink dispensers and set inhibits on the all the ones that represent less than a specified fraction of the total coins that are held in the hopper.

You will or course have to worry about leaving enough small voins to ensure you can pay out the full amounts.
